Are you looking for artwork that's meaningful and gives you a boost of courage to start the day? This fabric banner makes a striking statement in any room and is an important reminder for both adults and children to take up space wherever you go!

Materials: Purple 100% cotton fabric with vegan felt lettering. An oak dowel is threaded through the top of the banner and ivory satin ribbon is attached so it's ready to hang.

Inspiration: TV Chef, author and media personality Nadiya Hussain never expected to win Great British Bake-Off in 2015 but, since then, she’s built a successful career and is much-loved for her honesty. She’s always talked openly about her mental health struggles and the particular barriers she faced as the daughter of first generation Bangladeshi immigrants. She knows it’s a continual battle to not let those self-doubts creep back in.

I first heard her explain the idea of ‘Elbows Out’ during her ‘Dear Daughter’ BBC podcast interview in 2024. It’s a daily affirmation she uses with her children whenever they feel like the world is telling them to shrink and reduce who they are. You can take power back over how you think of yourself. Take up space! The physical act of straightening your back, jutting your elbows out can help to remind you of all the support you have from your loved ones so you can face the world boldly and hold on to your childhood dreams and innate self-confidence.
