Are you looking for artwork that's meaningful and gives you a boost of courage to start the day? This bright, bold fabric banner makes a striking statement in any room and is an important reminder for both adults and children of the importance of standing up against injustice anywhere you notice it - whether big or small acts.
Dimensions: 12 by 13 inches (31 x 33cm)
Materials: 100% cotton fabric in modern floral print with wool felt* lettering. An oak dowel is threaded through the top of the banner and pink satin ribbon is attached so it's ready to hang.
Inspiration: John Lewis was a key campaigner during the American Civil Rights movement and often urged people to 'Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble' by participating in non-violent civil disobedience. He organised sit-ins, participated in Freedom Rides and lead historic marches alongside Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Lewis continued to fight against injustice when he entered formal politics. He served as a US Congressman for 34 years before his death in 2020 and was widely regarded as the 'conscience of Congress'. Lewis' idea of 'good trouble' reminds us that when people aren't complacent in the face of obvious injustice, they can inspire others to act too.
(*vegan felt is also an option - please message to request this)
